Logan Spalding found his way to Colorado State to complete his Master's in Natural Resource Stewardship with a concentration in Ecological Restoration. Originally from San Jose, California, he grew up playing lacrosse with the South Valley Chiefs and Redwood City Firehawks. Prior to playing in college, he played with the following club teams: Team NorCal, All West Elite, Team Booth, and NorCal Braves. At Archbishop Mitty High School, he was named Captain and Team MVP in his Senior Year and received league honors in his last two years. He earned his B.A. in Environmental Studies at Southwestern University, a liberal arts institution located in Georgetown, Texas. Southwestern University remained a NCAA Division III independent team for some time, but during his Senior Year when they joined the SCAC, he was named All-SCAC First Team and tournament runner up for best defensive midfielder while having the third most goals (28), fourth most points (39), and fourth most ground balls (42) on the team over the course of the season. He was able to maintain a 48.3% shooting percentage during his Senior year and earned the “Unsung Hero” award given to a leader with a team-first mentality who makes smart decisions and tough plays. His passion for the game fueled a 14-year career. After graduating from Southwestern University, Logan began working with his head coach, Bill Bowman, for a short time before returning to California. He coached at his alma mater, Archbishop Mitty, as the Offensive Coordinator and had a 3-0 record in 2020 before the season was cut short. Coach Logan Spalding is eager to contribute his knowledge of the game in any way and is excited to do so with a great program. He contributes wherever he is needed with an emphasis on fundamentals, stickwork mechanics, footwork, offensive theory, odd man situations, FO and wing play, and communicating on a one-on-one level. Coach is excited to continue working alongside Coach Ryan Macdonald, Reed Zak, Joe Whitmore, the players, and the greater CSU Lacrosse Family.
