Cliff began his lacrosse career at the University of Alabama, helping revive a stagnant program for the Crimson Tide. As a Freshman midfielder in 2005, Cliff scored the game winning goal against The Citadel. Cliff moved to goalkeeper his Sophomore season, finding a home between the pipes for the rest of his career. Before leaving campus, Cliff held Alabama records in Career Saves (241), Single Season Saves (185, 2007), and Career Save % (.538, 2005-2008). After exhausting his eligibility, Cliff was an Assistant Coach for Alabama in 2009 and 2010. Cliff spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as an Assistant Coach for the new Lafayette Lions club program before taking the Head Coach responsibilities in 2013 for the Lafayette Hurricanes.
