Austen Lison joined the Concordia University Irvine Eagles as a graduate assistant defensive coach in 2020 while working towards obtaining his master’s in clinical counseling. Born and raised in Leesburg, Virginia, Austen started playing lacrosse at the age of 5. Playing for Loudoun County High School as a LSM (long stick midfielder), Lison was selected First Team All-State in the 2014 and 2015 spring seasons while helping the team to two district titles, one regional title, and a state runner-up finish. In 2015, Lison continued his lacrosse career at Florida Southern College while obtaining undergraduate degrees in psychology and criminology. During his collegiate career, Lison earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2016 and 2019, Third Team All-America honors in 2017, Team MVP in 2019, and finished with career school records in ground balls and caused turnovers. Lison also finished the 2019 season ranked fifth in caused turnovers per game and 37th all-time in career ground balls for NCAA D2.
