UVU’s Lundin Grabs Warrior Award

ATLANTA – After a dominating performance at the dot that led to a conference title for the Wolverines, Utah Valley junior faceoff man Jacob Lundin is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 27.
The RMLC tournament commenced on Friday with Utah Valley facing Colorado State in the semifinals and the Logan, Utah, product put his mark on the game. He won 18-of-27 faceoffs (66.7 percent) while gobbling 18 ground balls and scoring a goal.
On Saturday against defending conference and national champion Brigham Young, Lundin was even more impressive, winning 16 of the 20 draws (80 percent) he took while vacuuming up another 16 grounds. He tacked on a goal and an assist for good measure.
Total numbers for the weekend included a 72.3 win rate (34-for-47) along with 34 ground balls, two goal and a dime.
“Jake has been dominant at the X this season, dominating in all aspects of the faceoff,” said Utah Valley coach Colin Maxfield. “He never shies away from a tough ground ball, and excels in transition.
“What separates Jake from others at his position is his ability to stay on and initiate our offense.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Lundin will receive a Warrior Formula head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
