URI’s Reilly Grabs Warrior Award

ATLANTA – Rhode Island rolled to a victory over a Top 10 squad thanks to the play of junior midfielder Keegan Reilly, who was named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 12.

The top-ranked Rams entertained No. 7 Grand Valley State in Kingston on Friday afternoon and URI rolled from the jump, aided by the play of the Cranston, R.I., product.

Reilly scored seven goals and dished out three assists as Rhode Island posted the 15-9 victory over the Lakers. He factored in on two-thirds of the Rams output.

After seven games, Reilly is averaging over a hat trick per game.

“Keegan Reilly’s impact on each and every game can never go unnoticed,” said Rhode Island coach Larry Madeira. “He is dangerous every single time he touches the ball, and that showed on Friday night.

“Whenever you need a bucket, he always seems to deliver when you need it the most.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Reilly will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

The rookie attackman from Newcastle, Calif., scored three goals and set up five others in the Spartans comfy win over Fullerton.

Ryan Parody, Soph. – UNC-Charlotte
The Raleigh, N.C., FOGO won 17-of-25 draws (68.0 percent) in a 22-10 victory over Elon while also adding 10 ground balls.

Nickolas Raptis, Jr. – Grand Valley State
In a 2-1 East Coast road swing for the Lakers, the Walled Lake, Mich., attackman amassed 10 goals along with a dime.

Jonathan Serrell, Soph. – Montana State
The Draper, Utah, middie posted six goals and eight assists in a weekend sweep of North Dakota State and MSU Denver.

Jashae Williams, Soph. – Saint Mary’s
The middie from San Francisco struck for five goals and a dime in a key conference victory over Chico State.
