ATLANTA – With a pair of sterling performances against two ranked programs, UC San Diego senior midfielder Finn Reid is the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 12.

The weekend in Las Vegas started on Friday night with the Tritons matching up with No. 21 Northwest Nazarene. On the strength of four goals from the Carlsbad, Calif., product, UCSD took home the 14-8 victory.

The following day in Sin City, the 15th-ranked Tritons matched up with No. 6 College of Idaho. Again Reid was the catalyst for the UCSD victory, notching another four goals in the 9-8 win.

“Finn truly loves lacrosse and it shows in his game,” said UC San Diego coach Albert Man. “His game has evolved and improved tremendously from just last season. Finn is a true two-way midfielder and a senior captain.

“For our young team, he is a calming presence on the field for us offensively or defensively. At the same time, when we are down, he has a knack for making a huge play and sparking a run, as he did again and again for us this weekend.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Reid will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
