ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- The Sonoma State men's lacrosse program welcomes former player and coach James Craft to the Seawolves coaching staff.

Craft will team up with head coach Panchito Ojeda and and current defensive coordinator -- and former teammate -- Steve Johnson. Craft rejoins Sonoma State after successful stints as an assistant from 2002-'05 and 2008-'10.

Craft played at Sonoma State from 1994-1998. Coming in with a highly-touted class, Craft and Johnson were freshman teammates under legendary coach John Hughes.

After graduation, Craft went into the software engineering field before returning to assist the Seawolves during their MCLA national campionship run in 2002. Again in 2008, Craft came back to guide the Seawolves to back-to-back appearances in the national tournament and two quarterfinal appearances.

He will be bringing a wealth of knowledge and a blue collar approach to the game this spring.

"Coach Craft joins Coach Johnson to round out a great staff," said Ojeda. "Coach Johnson has already proven he is all about hard-nosed lacrosse and Coach Craft comes from the same background. As we strive for a WCLL title and appearance at the national tournament, Coach Craft will play a pivotal role in attaining success."
