DENTON, Texas -- The University of North Texas men's lacrosse team has named Aaron Skiles as the new head of the program.

Skiles joins the Mean Green after spending the past four seasons as both an assistant and head coach for the Southlake (Texas) High School varsity programs. He was also the director and head coach of the youth program in Southlake.

Skiles began his coaching career as goalie coach and assistant at the Western Guilford High School in Greensboro, N.C. He was a three-year starter in goal for Guilford (N.C.) College, where he finished sixth on the school's career save list. He has worked with some of the top goaltenders in the country at Bill Pilat's "Goalie School" in Roanoke, Va.

North Texas also announced the hiring of Kenny Callis as an assistant coach.

Callis graduated from North Texas in the spring of 2017, and has chosen to stay on with the program to help with assistant coaching and defensive coordinator duties.

While Callis does not have any formal coaching experience, he was a three-time All-LSA player for the Mean Green.

Both Skiles and Callis bring an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to the program.
