TAMPA, Fla. -- Each week, coaches in the SELC submit their nominations to the SELC Awards Committee for an Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. Below are the SELC Division I Players of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 30 - Sunday, Feb. 5:

Offensive Player of the Week

Pierce Quarles, Georgia Tech - Junior, Attack
Georgia Tech fended off a quality SELC opponent in Auburn to open up their MCLA season Friday. Quarles put up six points against the Tigers, including two goals and four assists along with four ground balls.

Continuing his great play on Sunday, Quarles led his Yellow Jackets with 10 points, beating Vanderbilt and acquiring their first divisional win of 2023. His 10 points included four goals and six assists. He also added three ground balls.

Defensive Player of the Week

Jacob Magad, South Florida - Junior, FOS
In its season opener, South Florida would lose to LSU in a tight game. This was heavily thanks to Magad's faceoff play. He finished the day winning 19 of his 20 faceoffs, picking up 12 ground balls and accounting for two assists in transition.
