RMLC D-II Crown Goes to Montana State

OREM, Utah – For the second time in three years, Montana State is the champion of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) Division II after beating Colorado Denver, 13-8 on Saturday in Orem, Utah.

The Bobcats (12-2) shook off a first-quarter deficit to take a 6-3 halftime lead. The Lynx (9-3) made a run to cut the lead to one in the third quarter, but eventually Montana State pulled away.

2018 RMLC DIVISION II TOURNAMENT BRACKET

With the victory, Montana State earns an automatic qualifying berth to the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which takes place in Salt Lake City from May 7-12.

“We’ve put in a ton of work in the last 15 years and even the last five to get back here,” said Montana State coach Chris Kelley. “Getting that higher seed is going to be awesome.”

Montana State will find out its opponent on Sunday night when the brackets for nationals will be announced.
