Northeastern Releases '23 Schedule

BOSTON -- After getting upset in the Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) finals last spring and missing out on a trip to Round Rock, Northeastern has created a rugged schedule for the 2023 season.

"The way last season ended for us -- losing in the CLC finals, missing an at large bid and the uncertainty surrounding the CLC automatic qualifier -- we wanted to be sure we loaded our schedule with as many high quality opponents as we could," said Northeastern coach Tom Duca. "When Minnesota reached out trying to set up a middle ground for East and West Coast teams, we jumped on it.

"We knew we wanted three games for our spring break trip and the Arizona schools are always extremely talented teams. Adding a third trip to Georgia Tech, after our competitive game last year, heading to Auburn, and with Temple traveling to us, we felt we built a schedule that will prepare us for CLC tournament and beyond."

After a friendly against Division II national runner-up Rhode Island, the Huskies travel to the Minneapolis to face powers Chapman and Minnesota on Feb. 18-19. Another local match against D-II Bridgewater State is followed by a trek to the desert.

In a three day span -- March 4-6 -- Northeastern will clash with Arizona, Arizona State and Grand Canyon in hopes of establishing some road credibility with the selection committee. The Huskies close out March with a home tilt against ALC foe Temple.

April opens with another trip, this time to the southeast for games at Auburn and national runner-up Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Northeastern wraps up the season with four conference games before heading to Fitchburg, Mass., for the CLC tournament on April 29-30.
