No Surprises: UMLC Top 4 Advance

MAHTOMEDI, Minn. – In a surprise to no one, the top four seeds in the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) – all of which are ranked in Top 13 of the Under Armour MCLA Division II Coaches Poll – advanced to the conference semifinals with victories on Friday.

Top-ranked and top-seeded St. Thomas breezed past North Dakota, 25-1, setting up a second date with blood rival St. John’s in one of the semifinals. The Johnnies stifled MSU-Mankato, 11-2, to set up the premium semi matchup.

On the other side of the bracket, North Dakota State took down St. Cloud State, 16-9, to advance to the conference final four. Minn.-Duluth dispatched Winona State in the nightcap, 15-3, to round out that semifinal.
