ATLANTA – After guiding No. 3 North Dakota State to a 2-0 start – including a convincing win over No. 6 Minn.-Duluth – Bison rookie attackman Kevin Sturgeon has earned Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour in Division II for the period ending Feb. 28.

Playing in a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, Sturgeon started off with three goals and an assist in a 16-3 victory over St. Cloud State. In the nightcap, the Eagan, Minn., native solved the stout Duluth backline to the tune of four goals and three assists.

For the weekend, he had seven goals, four assists and eight ground balls.

“Kevin is one of the hardest workers we have on our team,” said NDSU coach Zach Bosh. “Practicing for six weeks straight was a real grind, but I feel as if the work he put in against the number of talented poles we have prepared him for this game. Kevin's biggest contribution comes in his effort on our 10-man ride. That really sets up everything we do and he is big part of it.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Sturgeon will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
