MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Montana men's lacrosse team took victories in their only two scheduled home games for the spring season against UNLV on Friday and Saturday.

Friday evening saw the Griz hold on for a one-goal victory, 14-13.

Senior Luke Johnson scored four goals for Montana as the Griz jumped out to a 10-5 halftime lead. UNLV used a strong second half to close the deficit down to one, but the Griz were able to shut the Rebels down at the end to secure the victory.

On Saturday, Montana once again used a strong first half to jump out to a five-goal lead behind a first quarter hat trick from senior Trent Tubbs before UNLV closed it back to two.

This time Montana finished the game as strong as they started, scoring the final three goals to take a 12-7 victory to close out their regular season schedule.

Montana closes out their regular season with a 9-1 record and will move on to take on some of the best Division II teams on May 8-9 in Minneapolis.

Montana will join St. Thomas, NDSU, and Missouri State to showcase some the best D-II teams the MCLA has to offer.
