ATLANTA – After leading the Golden Gophers to a stunning upset of a Top 5 contender, Minnesota senior attackman Robbie Chermak has been named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 23.
Squaring off with No. 4 Northeastern on Sunday in the Twin Cities, the Gophers pulled the 14-13 overtime stunner thanks to five goals and two assists from the Wayzata, Minn., product.
In an overtime loss to Boise State on Friday, Chermak chipped in with a goal and an assist.
“Robbie is the heart of our attack group as a senior captain,” said Minnesota coach Peter Gosen. “He always impacts every game and practice.
“Robbie does all the extra little things that don’t always get recognized throughout a game but always changes a game ground balls, rides hard and keeps everyone’s spirits up.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Chermak will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O head – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
