Minnesota appeared to be ready to take down the title in regulation, but Michigan State (9-5) struck with just two seconds left to send the game into extra time. Freshman Will Harris was credited with the game-winner.

This will be the Golden Gophers third trip to nationals and the second-consecutive bid as they qualified for the 2019 tournament in Salt Lake City.
