ATLANTA – After guiding Miami to a pair of wins, including a victory over a Division I squad, Hurricane senior backstop Ramsey Morris is the MCLA Division II PEARL Goalie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4.

Miami opened the weekend with a divisional game against Tampa on Friday night. The Richmond, Va., product was on his game, turning away all nine shots he saw in the first half and allowing the Hurricanes to build a 14-0 lead that settled in at an 18-2 final.

Morris went the distance against Division I South Florida on Saturday, and was equally impressive. He stopped 15 shots in the 11-6 victory, registering an impressive 71.4 save percentage for the ‘Canes.

For the weekend, Morris stopped 24 of the 30 shots he saw – a staggering 80 percent save percentage – to get Miami off to a great start.

"Ramsey has been a consistent leader on and off the field throughout his tenure with Miami lacrosse," said Miami coach Bryan Walsh. "Independent of his ability to make huge saves for us and bail out our defense when needed, Ramsey is able to keep the defense under control and effective."

As the recipient of the PEARL Goalie of the Week honor, Morris will receive a PEARL swag bag of goodies that will include PEARL lacrosse balls – the official ball of the MCLA.
