MINNEAPOLIS – The Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) is pleased to announce the addition of Miami University of Ohio to the Division I roll for the 2020 campaign.

The Redhawks will join the East subdivision of UMLC-I, joining Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana and Purdue.

"We are thrilled to have Miami back in the MCLA,” said UMLC director Derek Daehn. “They are a well-organized team and will add to the UMLC East subdivision."

Miami returns to the MCLA after a two-year hiatus. The Redhawks were members of the former Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC) from 2009-17.

"We are beyond excited to return to the MCLA for the 2020 season,” said Miami president T.J. Cahill. “We look forward to work and compete for UMLC conference title coming spring"

The Redhawks will look to unseat Minnesota, which won the UMLC-I crown last spring, and advance to the 2020 MCLA National Championships sponsored by New Balance. Nationals will be held in Salt Lake City from May 4-9.

The 2020 UMLC Division I tournament will take place on April 24-26 at the Crown Point (Ind.) Sportsplex.
