ATLANTA – Coinciding with Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11, the MCLA is pleased to promote the Wallball for Warfighters initiative created by Shootout for Soldiers and sponsored by PEARL.
Over the past decade, Shootout for Soldiers has raised $5M to support American veterans, including building smart homes for disabled vets along with job skills programs and other supportive projects.
The Wallball for Warfighters is an opportunity for MCLA programs to hit the wall for some always-needed drills while also supporting a great cause.
The goal of this initiative is two-fold. Primarily it’s an event that allows all lacrosse players to actively support our veterans. In addition, Wallball for Warfighters brings military personnel and civilians together as one community through lacrosse.
Along with assisting veterans, this drive will also assist ten lacrosse-based youth groups such as Harlem Lacrosse, Oakland Lacrosse and Detroit United Lacrosse.
“The MCLA has had countless veterans play on our teams, and another large group of veterans who have coached for us,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “We encourage our programs to take advantage of this opportunity.”

“We would love to see MCLA coaches and players participate in our inaugural year and help us honor our Veterans,” said Shootout for Soldiers executive director Erik Mineo. “Help us make history and join us on The Wall to show your support.”
