ATLANTA - The Georgia Tech men's lacrosse team is pleased to announce its schedule for the 2024 season.

The schedule includes eight teams that were ranked in the final 2023 MCLA New Balance Coaches Poll, including four teams that qualified for the 2023 MCLA National Tournament presented by New Balance.

The Yellow Jackets open the year with a game against an always-talented Clemson team. The following weekend, the Jackets will host conference opponent Auburn and traditional power Colorado.

The Jackets will make a weekend trip to Nashville to play Boston College, who finished 2023 ranked in the Top 10, and SELC foe Vanderbilt. The team will welcome Alabama the following weekend. Texas A&M and New Hampshire come to town for a three-team round-robin the next weekend.

Next, the Jackets will take the cross-country flight to play Cal in a rematch of the classic 2019 MCLA tournament semifinal. Georgia Tech will also face Texas in Berkeley in a rematch of the opening-round contest at last year's nationals. Arizona State come to Atlanta on March 15 before the Jackets take a week off for spring break.

The Jackets will close the regular season schedule with two regional games against strong opponents. First, Tech will travel to Columbia to face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks in a rematch of the last three SELC Championship games and the 2022 MCLA Championship game.

The final game of the regular season will be against archrival Georgia at home on April 6. This game will mark the celebration of Founders Day, recognizing the founding of the first ever lacrosse program at Georgia Tech in 1924.

The program was flourishing under founder, JB Crenshaw, a professor at Georgia Tech and former Johns Hopkins goalie, until the economic impact of the great depression forced a shutdown in the mid 1930s. The program restarted in 1971. Dr. Crenshaw was beloved by the student body and the 1941 yearbook was named in his honor.

"As always, we wanted to challenge ourselves with our schedule," said Georgia Tech coach Ken Lovic. "We will learn a lot about our team through this schedule and facing the challenges laid before us. Then we are excited to honor the roots of lacrosse during Founder's Day."
