ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Yellow Jackets face a formidable 2016 season coming off an undefeated regular season, a 17-2 final record and appearance in the quarterfinal in 2015 after their schedule was announced.
In addition to regular divisional foes, Tech plays the SELC "Big Three" of Florida State, Liberty and Virginia Tech along with a rising South Carolina squad. The Florida State game is particularly noteworthy in that Georgia Tech will face off on Saturday, April 30 at the ACC tournament, held this year at Kennesaw State in suburban Atlanta. This falls after the SELC tournament.
The non-conference slate is a "who's who" of strong, East Coast competition. Coming to town are rising programs like Indiana and LSU, powerful Michigan State in the "Coaches vs. Cancer" charity game on Sunday March 6. Also, the Jackets play archrival Boston College. The last two games with the Eagles were one-point thrillers settled in the waning seconds or overtime, with each team winning by one. Be there on Friday night, Feb. 19.
