Field Set for LSA-II Tournament

DALLAS – The eight-team field for the 2019 Lone Star Alliance tournament has been set and will begin the weekend of April 13 with three quarterfinals contests at home sites.

That quarterfinal round consists of the top two teams from each of the four divisions squaring off. Defending LSA-II champion Missouri State (5-7) once again grabbed the top seed out of the LSA North division and has already advanced to the semifinals with its win over Creighton (1-5).

Oklahoma State (7-3) leads the Central and will host Dallas Baptist (4-5). Baylor (8-2) drew the top seed in the South, creating a rematch with UT-San Antonio (5-4) while Rice (6-1) will face Tulane (4-1) in the East. Full schedule below.

“The race for the LSA Division II automatic qualifier is always exciting, and this year should be no different,” said Jason Zantjer, LSA director. “Any of the four teams that get to Dallas have a legitimate shot at heading to nationals.”

The semifinals and finals will be held at Southern Methodist University and will be streamed live by StickStar Lacrosse, which has been a proud, long-time supporter of the LSA.

The winner earning an automatic qualifying berth to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will be held from May 6-11 in Salt Lake City.

GAME 2: #1N Missouri State d. #2N Creighton, 19-6
GAME 3: #2S UT San Antonio at #1S Baylor, 1 p.m. – April 13
GAME 4: #2E Tulane at #1E Rice, 1 p.m. – April 13

Semifinals – April 27 (at Southern Methodist)
GAME 1 winner vs. GAME 4 winner, 10 a.m.
GAME 2 winner vs. #1N Missouri State, 1 p.m.

Finals – April 28 (at Southern Methodist)
Semifinal winners, 12:30 p.m.
