SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- The Dominican men's lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the 2023 campaign and the slate is highlighted by non-conference home matchups with Minnesota, Washington and Texas A&M.

The Penguins look to build off their best season in program history and their first-ever playoff appearance by playing a 14-game regular season featuring five opponents ranked in the final 2022 New Balance Division I 2022 Coaches Poll.

The Penguins open the season with a trip to southern California to take on last year's SLC champion USC. The team then hits the road for a big trip to Oregon to take on Oregon State and Oregon.

The Penguins will play their first home game of the season against WCLL South opponent UC Santa Barbara following the trip to Oregon.

The Penguins finish their first month with a road game against another WCLL South opponent, Stanford. That is followed by a home contest against San Diego State the same weekend.

The Penguins will start March with a rematch against Minnesota at home, before hitting the road for a spring break trip in Texas to take on SMU and Texas.

The Penguins return for a two-game homestand against Washington and Texas A&M following the spring break trip to Texas. April opens with a home game against Nevada.

The Penguins then visit Sonoma State before ending the regular season at home for senor day against Cal.

"Last season was very successful," said Dominican coach Sammy Vogel-Seidenberg. "We learned a lot and the guys are hungrier than ever. We have 13 guys who decided to stay on and use their fifth year. We have a strong group of seniors, junior and sophomores, as well as a great incoming freshman class that is making an impact on the field.

"We have one of the deepest teams in years and are very mature. We have added 13 new players, including a pair of transfer student-athletes."
