FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – In the shadow of Humphreys Peak, a pair of ascending programs take to the NAU South Field Recreation Complex in hopes of advancing to the second round of the MCLA Virtual Tournament.

Colorado Denver has found its footing under the leadership of coach Noah Rosenblum, and the results are clear. While the Lynx might be a step behind Montana State and Utah State within the RMLC, they are quickly closing the gap.

With a surprisingly geographically diverse – if also a little thin – roster, CU Denver has been a handful. Sophomore attackman Kaleb Gulick is a true quarterback for the offense while classmate Jackson White is a solid finisher.

Throw in rookie Sebastian Newton out of Fort Lauderdale and the attack is young and loaded.

Fellow frosh Garrett Ryon has been a stud in the cage right from the jump.

“We have nothing but respect for Northern Arizona. Just a complete team,” said Rosenblum*. “We feel like we’re planting the seeds of something special here, and this game will show us where we’re at.”

They will have to tame a NAU beast ready to make its presence felt on the big stage.

Will Lawlor has hit the ground running in Flagstaff and has built a burgeoning national power. With a healthy injection of California products, the Lumberjacks have taken over the role of SLC bully.

Freshman attackman Jack Arendts and classmate Jack Ryan are a deadly attack duo made even more dangerous when thrown into the mix with senior midfielder Kyle Holleschau.

“Flagstaff is special spot at this time of year and we’re honored to host the Lynx,” said Lawlor*. “The blend of veteran and young players has been great for us this year and we hope to keep it going.”
