ATLANTA – After knocking off the No. 22 team in Division I last weekend, St. Thomas cemented its preseason status as the top team in Week 1 of the Under Armour MCLA Division II Coaches Poll.

The Tommies (1-0) cruised past Minnesota on Saturday, helping UST grab all 22 first place votes.

Just like the preseason poll, St. Thomas was followed by Grand Valley State (0-0), North Dakota State (1-0), Dayton (0-0) and Sierra Nevada (1-0) in the second through fifth spots, respectively.

Appalachian State (0-2) and Western Washington (0-1) departed the poll from the preseason edition, replaced by Wake Forest (3-0) and Central Conn. State (0-0), which were tied for No. 22
