ATLANTA – For the fourth time in as many weeks, Brigham Young is the top team in the MCLA Division I New Balance Weekly Coaches Poll, which was released on Wednesday.
The Cougars (9-0), who were idle this week, were the top choice on 26 of the 27 ballots cast, sending them 35 points clear of second place – an addition of five points from last week.
The Top 3 in the poll remained static with Cal Poly (8-0) and Liberty (7-1) filling up the second and third chairs, respectively. The Flames garnered the remaining first-place vote.
No. 4 Utah Valley (6-2) and No. 5 Florida (8-2) each moved up a spot, filling the void left by No. 9 Northeastern (7-2), which had a five-spot tumble from last week’s rank.
Utah (5-1) was the biggest mover of the week, inching up two spots into the No. 16 slot. On the strength of a 2-0 weekend, No. 19 Arizona (6-3) inched into the Top 20 as James Madison (6-2) exited to make way for the Wildcats.
