ATLANTA – After backstopping UNC-Charlotte to an impressive ranked road victory, 49ers senior Cody Seaman has been named the MCLA Division II PEARL Goalie of the Week for the period ending Feb. 10.

Matching up with No. 18 Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, the Fuquay Varina, N.C., product stood tall, turning away 13 shots in the thrilling, 7-6 victory.

“The growth that Charlotte has seen out of Cody over the past few years is almost unquantifiable,” said UNC-Charlotte coach Nick Nedvesky. “Cody has stepped up to be a captain, leader and a true voice of the defense this season.

“In the game over Wake Forest, he had two pointblank saves to go along with several others that just kept momentum on our side throughout the game. As good as his pure save ability is, he may be one of the best outlet passers in the country.

“The defense feeds off his prowess in net and it is becoming an added weapon for our team as we get into the 2024 season.”

As the recipient of the PEARL Goalie of the Week honor, Seaman will receive a PEARL swag bag of goodies that will include PEARL lacrosse balls – the official ball of the MCLA.
