CCLA-II Tourney Opens This Weekend

PITTSBURGH – The Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association boasts seven teams ranked in the MCLA Division II Coaches Poll and all of those teams will start their quest to win the CCLA championship this weekend at campus sites.

At the conclusion of this weekend, the semifinals and finals of both CCLA divisions will move to Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh. The champions in each division will earn an automatic bid to the 2016 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour. The national event will take place from May 9-14 in Orange County, Calif.

Three of the four games feature a pair of ranked teams squaring off. No. 25 Lawrence Tech travels to No. 9 Siena Heights, No. 20 Indiana Tech visits No. 11 Lourdes while No. 8 Grand Valley State entertains No. 6 Grove City. Unranked Aquinas visits defending national champion Dayton to round out the quarterfinals.

Division II – Friday, April 22
Game 1: #3W Indiana Tech at #2E Lourdes, 3 p.m.

Division II – Saturday, April 23
Game 2: #4E Lawrence Tech at #1W Siena Heights, 7 p.m.
Game 3: #3E Grove City at #2W Grand Valley State, 6 p.m.
Game 4: #4W Aquinas at #1E Dayton, 2 p.m.

Friday, April 29 – Semifinals – Pittsburgh (Highmark Stadium)
Division I
#4 seed vs. #1 seed, 5 p.m.
#3 seed vs. #2 seed, 8 p.m.

Division II
Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 11 a.m.
Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner, 2 p.m.

Saturday, April 30 – Finals – Pittsburgh (Highmark Stadium)
Division I
Semifinal winners, 4 p.m.

Division II
Semifinal winners, 12 p.m.
