Arizona Seeks Asst. Coaches

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Arizona men's lacrosse program is currently seeking assistant coaches for the 2019-2020 academic year and beyond.

Ideal candidates will have collegiate playing and coaching experience with solid understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. These positions will assist the head coach and work with existing staff in the organizing, planning and coaching of the men's lacrosse team.

ASSISTANT COACH RESPONSIBILITIES
Design competent practice plans and drills.
Conduct and supervise individual player skill development.
Film review and scouting of opponents.
Assist with the preparation and implementation of game strategies.
Coordinate substitution box during all games.
Monitoring of student-athlete academic progress.
Administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

FACE-OFF COACH RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work daily during practice with the UofA face-off specialists on improving their skill set at the position.
Design competent practice plans and drills for both FOS and wing players.
Assist in coaching other drills and positions as needed.
Film review and scouting of opponents.
Assist with the preparation and implementation of game strategies.
Administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

The University of Arizona program is a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I, an association of eight conferences nationwide.

Arizona competes in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC), one of the most competitive leagues in the MCLA. The SLC has produced teams that have played in the MCLA championship game in ten of the last 11 years, winning three of the last five. In 2019 Arizona finished the season ranked No. 17 nationally in the final MCLA Coaches Poll.

These is are part-time positions. Additional income opportunities may be possible through local youth teams, camps, and tournaments.

Salary: To be discussed.

Appointment: Part-Time, 10 months.
